Below is a list of some FBT audit triggers for 2009:
1. Referral from other department of ATO - e.g. a GST audit may trigger FBT audit
2. ATO will cross check employee contribution between income tax return and FBT return
3. A large number of companies have been calculating LAFH benefit incorrectly
4. Companies issue group certificate with reportable fringe benefit, but have not lodged any FBT return.
5. Significant type 2 benefits |
