Metformin is used in treating polycystic ovarian syndrome, even you do not have diabetics. It will help regular your periods, lead to spontaneous ovulation.
The co妹妹on side effects of metformin are nausea, decrease appetide, sometime abdominal cramp. This is why you were started on one tablet per day for one week, then two tablets per day for the second week. From the third week, the standard dose is one tablet three time a day. Usually by this stage, the nausea and abdominal cramp have settled.
If you can not tolerate the side effect, you may increase the dose slower. For example, take one table per day for more than one week, till you feel better, then increase to one table twice perday for 2 weeks or till nausea settle. You can then increase to one table three times per day. |
