Female pedestrian killed in crash in Clayton, Melbourne
The woman was struck by a semi-trailer.
A female pedestrian has died in a serious collision in Clayton, Melbourne.
A female pedestrian has died after a collision in Melbourne’s southeast.
The woman was struck by a semi-trailer on Clayton Rd in Clayton about 十二.50pm on Wednesday.
Emergency services treated the woman at the scene but she could not be saved.
“The exact circumstances of the collision are being investigated,” police said.
Clayton Rd is closed in both directions between Centre Rd and Carinish Rd.
Traffic is heavily congested according to the transport department including on surrounding roads and there are delays of more than 15 minutes.
“We ask motorists to use Westall or Huntingdale roads instead, and to be mindful of residential traffic when using local roads,” the department said.
Buses on routes 703, 704, 733, 824 and 631 are missing two stops as they divert around the closure.
Replacement buses operating on the Cranbourne and Pakenham train lines continue to service Clayton Station but may be delayed.
