Good afternoon,
Parramatta Light Rail is one of the NSW Government’s major public transport projects, part of a record $89.7 billion infrastructure investment across the state.
Stage 1 of Parramatta Light Rail will connect Westmead to Carlingford via the Parramatta CBD and Camellia, and is due to open in 2023.
Hawkesbury Road, between Darcy Road and Jessie Street, is being widened in preparation for the construction and operation of Parramatta Light Rail, in association with the Westmead Redevelopment project.
The contractor Ford Civil has been engaged to carry out this work.
On Hawkesbury Road between Darcy Road and Jessie Street, construction and traffic works will include:
The relocation of utilities and parking
Removal of roundabouts, median strips and median kerbs
Modification or installation of traffic lights
New footpath, street lighting and landscaping on the hospital side of the road
Foothpath improvements, opposite the hospital
Modifications to the existing traffic network
