At issue is a paint that’s been incorrectly applied to the boot area, which can cause corrosion if not rectified. International reports are suggesting water can enter the gas strut that holds the boot lid open, which can cause it to close unexpectedly.

There have been no local cases of accidents or injuries, and international reports suggest the problem does not impact on the way affected vehicles drive.
