Residence rules
To get Parental Leave Pay, you must satisfy residence rules. When your child is born or adopted you must be living in Australia and either:
•have Australian citizenship
•hold a permanent visa
•hold a Special Category visa, or
•hold a temporary visa, such as a partner provisional, interdependency or temporary protection visa
