Well the definition of small business entity by ATO is here:
1. aggregated turn over less than 2 million dollars a year
2. carry on a business
So your business is not small as you think. Therefore I reckon you need a tax accountant.
As a business you still need to meet the requirement to keep good record. That is your duty. The tax accounts will help you to lodge BAS and IT returns or sometimes give you some advice if they qualify.
You can hire a bookkeeper separately or give everything to your accountant.
Hiring a bookkeeper does not necessarily save money. You should talk to the accountant first to see if it is worth using one. After all the accountant is the one using the final product from the Bookkeeper.
