Jeep has issued a recall for 26,985 vehicles across its 20十一-2014 ‘WK’ Grand Cherokee model line, over concerns previous recall work on the brake booster may have been incorrectly installed.
The original notice, issued in April 2014, involved a brake booster centre shell that may corrode over time and allow water to enter.
Should the water enter the centre shell and freeze, the vehicle’s braking ability would be hindered, increasing the risk of an accident.
In this latest recall, the company reports the previous fix may have been incorrectly installed, which may cause the brake booster water shield to be less effective in diverting water away from the assembly, leading to the condition that was intended to be fixed again.
