My son had the drooling rash from around the same time as your baby. It got infected at one stage. We took him to see the GP twice and was given two different cream for the infection. The one worked is hydrocotison which has steroid 1 percent. It worked pretty well but as soon as his symptom subsided we stopped using it. Then it got worse again and the third doc suspected it was yeast infection this time and prescribed another cream.
He still has that but is quite controlled. We do our best to keep his chin and neck dry by constantly changing bibs.
We are not using any prescribed cream on him. To supplement that, I bought different OTC lotions and creams such as QV, LAnolin which you have etc. but for him, one thing works called Rash Stick containing organic caludona and beeswax. I found that after countless online searching.
The main thing is to keep it dry from drooling g but at the same, moisturise with cream. Oh, as last step, put a barrier cream and you can use the same one for the bottom.
Hope it help and it took me 5 weeks to find what seems working for my son.
