There will be more pains in life. I reckon parents should comfort him by acknowledging his feelings, help him to organise those feelings, learn to accept pains and learn from them.
I would probably hold him, asking where he is hurt and if the hurt is very bad, and give him a big hug and kisses. After he is calm down I would tell him to mind any obstacles next time.
At the same time, there may not be right and wrong way of parenting in this regards. It may be more of a personal preference. |
